The Economy - Quo Vadis

This morning I had the opportunity to listen to a very interesting presentation on the current economic picture. It was the first time in recent months that I heard a guardedly optimistic view expressed. Some of my jottings while listening to the presentation are:

• most optimistic in more than 2 years
• strongest recovery signs since 1980
• unemployment peaked in Oct 2009
• consumer spending is near the mid 2008 level
• corporate profits are back and will likely lead to capital investment

Certainly like all small business owners I am interested in an improved economic environment. The basic questions are always the same though "What does this mean for my business"? and "What should I be doing now"?

What are your thoughts on the economy and what are you doing in your business that you think is directly related to the current economic environment?
